National Week of Prayer
Please join with us during our National Week of Prayer to pray for different areas of the work of OAC GB each day.
Tuesday 3rd February – Children’s and Schools’ Work
OAC GB has a long-standing tradition of working with children and young people, both in schools and church settings.
Many of our evangelists and volunteers frequently lead school assemblies. Please pray that this will continue in a day where many would have Christianity sidelined as outdated and irrelevant in our schools.
Many of us also lead regular kid’s clubs, family services, speak at one off evangelistic events, are part of the children’s and youth work in our own churches and take leading roles at youth events and holiday clubs, often held in the summer months.
Last summer, two of our evangelists were leading their third Holiday Club of the summer. They were both feeling quite tired, and in the song before the story, the one who was due to be telling the story suddenly started to suffer from vertigo. He offered up a quick prayer to God as there was no way that he would be able to keep going without God’s help. He made it through the story and was grateful for the break afterwards, when three girls approached him saying that, after hearing the Gospel in the story, they wanted to put their trust in Jesus! Isn’t it fantastic how God works despite our weaknesses? Please pray for these girls, and for all who hear the Gospel through our evangelists, especially those in schools where an open response is not possible.
